A SCIENCE FICTION NOVEL BY ERIC DUBOFSKY
The populations of seven major cities are instantly killed by an unknown agent that turns living tissue into grotesque crystalline structures. Charles Davis, one of the only survivors in New York City, is barely alive when found by his brother Aaron during an emergency rescue mission. The Omniscients follows the brothers as Charles’ body and mind transform into something immensely powerful but stripped of humanity. The resulting battle between morality and logic will determine the fate of human civilization.
The Omniscients draws on interviews with multiple experts including an ER doctor, immunologist, chemist, infectious disease doctor, and senior quality engineer to provide science within its science fiction setting. Further technical details came from sources including the CDC biosafety manual, USAMRIID’s “Blue Book,” Department of Homeland Security fact sheets, and other academic publications.
Eric Dubofsky has a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and now grows immune cells for a living. The Omniscients is a decade-in-the-making result of a deep love of science fiction and a fascination with Wikipedia. Eric lives in Southern California and his favorite animal is the sea lion. The Omniscients is his first novel.
